FIELD: electrical engineering; charging storage batteries. SUBSTANCE: proposed device that generates current discharge pulse with steep trailing edge enabling liberation of additional amount of loose ions and can afford charge currents for certain time twice as high as those in case of standard waveform of discharge pulse applied to discharge means has charge and discharge means, control and synchronization means. Connected to discharge means is high-speed discharge-current interrupter that generates high-voltage pulse across storage battery and makes liberate additional amount of charge carriers across storage battery plates. High-speed discharge-current interrupter has high-speed pulse-width controller, filed-effect transistor that functions as high-speed switch, inductor for retarding current build-up, shunt that functions as current detector, and diode for breakdown protection of field-effect transistor. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of device. 1 cl, 2 dwg
