FIELD: procedure of production of thin films, applicable for production of polarizers from liquid- crystalline solutions. SUBSTANCE: the device has at least one means for feed of solution, at least one means of orienting influence on the solution, and at least one solution directing means made in the form of at least one plate installed for provision of getting of the solution first on the inner (relative to the orienting means) surface of the plate, and then on the supporting structure. The mentioned means are made for relative motion with the supporting structure holder and another setting at the necessary distance one from another and from the supporting structure holder. The method consists in feeding of the solution in such a manner that the solution would get onto the surface of the solution directing means, and then onto the supporting structure, where it is subjected to an external orienting action, in the process of film formation the supporting structure is mutually displaced in the plane of the formed film with the solution feed means, directing means and the orienting action means.
