FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of setting ignition control values at acceleration. According to invention optimum execution of relatively contradictory requirements is provided, one of which comes to necessity of prevention of knocking at engine operation, and the other comes to necessity of provision of maximum torque for high efficiency of said engine. According to proposed method of ignition control at dynamic changes of engine load, ignition control value is determined, basing on recorded operating parameters of engine, by multiparameter characteristic kept in storage. Then rate of load change is determined. Load change is compared with preset first threshold value of load dynamic change. If said threshold value is exceeded, preset lead value of load dynamic change is introduced and ignition control value is changed to later ignition. Then load rate is compared with preset second threshold value of load dynamic change which exceeds first threshold value of load dynamic change. If load rate change exceeds said second threshold value and at expiration at current stage of preset number of cycles of knock-free combustion, lead value of load dynamic change is corrected to make ignition control value shift to earlier ignition. In case of knocking whose intensity exceeds preset value of detonation intensity, lead value of dynamic change of load is gradually increased. First and second threshold values of dynamic change of load are found by creating or simulating real working conditions. Load dynamic change lead value is found by multiparameter characteristics, and each of corrected lead values of load dynamic changes is kept in storage as restored value.
