FIELD: mechanical engineering; industrial pipe fittings and valves. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to shutoff devices installed on pipelines. Proposed wedge gate valve contains housing with through hole and vertical guides in form of slots, two shutoff disks, head-wedge and two pressure members. Head-wedge is a figure formed at intersection of two similar cylinders whose axes are arranged at acute angle. Point of intersection of cylinder base centers coincides with center of base of head-wedge. Pressure members are essentially two retainers placed between head-wedge and shutoff disks. Retainers have two cylindrical surfaces, each, square to each other. One such surface is made concave mating with cylindrical surface of head-wedge, and the other is made convex mating cylindrical surfaces made in seats of shutoff disks. EFFECT: improved adaptability to manufacture and reliability of wedge gate valve. 3 dwg
