FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves marking anastomosis place in performing surgical intervention after mobilizing distal portion of the rectum. Position for creating anastomosis is determined with respect to anocutaneous line. Large intestine reservoir is formed when anastomosis creation level is not more than 6 cm far from the anocutaneous line. Direct colorectal anastomosis is built at the level of greater than 6 cm. Level for building anastomosis is determined in particular cases by means of instrument having 6 cm long cylindrical rod, restrictor set on one end of the rod and handle connected to the restrictor. The rod is introduced into anal canal to touch the restrictor with its external skin boundary of the anus. Anastomosis creation level is evaluated by free rod end position in the intestine. EFFECT: objective rules for building direct colorectal anastomosis. 2 cl, 1 dwg, 3 tbl
