FIELD: manufacture of shielding materials including film threads. SUBSTANCE: film thread is made from thermoplastic polymer filled with ferrimagnetic or ferromagnetic and has extent of magnetic texture of at least 20%, thickness exceeding filler particle size by at least twice, and porosity below 30%. Method involves forming round section thread from mixture of ferromagnetic filler and thermoplastic polymer by extruding through spinneret; rolling resultant thread between diarolls at temperature below polymer melting temperature to polymer thread thickness exceeding filler particle size by at least twice. Forming mixture is used in the form of filler dispersion in polymer melt or polymer solution, for example, superhigh molecular polyethylene or polyvinyl alcohol. Fillers used may be monoaxial hexaferrites with particles formed as anisometric parallelepipeds or scales. Film thread may be further processed by common procedures for producing of shielding material in the form of fabric or multilayer material of fabric structure.
