FIELD: mechanical engineering; heavily loaded drum-and-shoe brakes. SUBSTANCE: proposed device includes brake drum, brake shoes with bases, friction linings and heat-removing inserts secured to shoe by means of hollow screws made in form of thermal tube. Novelty of invention consists in hot zone of thermal tube formed by each heat-removing insert of first row under hollow screws and in connection of transversal heat-conducting plate with each heat-removing insert of second row located in center part of friction linings; cold zones (each end of second row of hollow screws) of thermal tubes are connected with ends of third row of hollow screws located on side of non-working surface of shoe base and free edge of drum rim by means of flexible finned pipe lines. EFFECT: improved service characteristics of brake; enhanced reliability; increased service life of friction units. 3 dwg
