FIELD: medicine, analytical chemistry, pharmacy. SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing spirituous solutions of medicinal substance to be tested and standard sample of isonicotinic acid hydrazide as a blank sample and vanillin that are applied on chromatography plate "Armsorb" or "Sorbfil". After drying a plate is placed into chromatography chamber and subjected for ascending chromatography in solvent system consisting of chloroform : 95% ethyl alcohol : glacial acetic acid : 25% ammonia solution taken in the ratio = 9:1:1:0.5, respectively. After chromatography a plate is dried and viewed in UV-light. Invention provides the enhancement of selectivity in analysis of purity of phthivazide and metazide. EFFECT: improved assay method.
