FIELD: medical ceramic materials. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical ceramic materials that can be used in manufacturing artificial bones and filler for bone defects in oral surgery. Manufacture of hydroxyapatite- and needle-shaped mineral-based porous bioceramics comprises blending and molding the blend to give products by semidry pressing technique. Moisture content in material to be molded should be 5-7%. Products are then placed onto porous caked quartz substrate or onto quartz grit filling with grain size 0.5-1.0 mm, dried, and fires at 1150-1400 C keeping them at final temperature during 0.5 to 2.5 h. Bioceramic material has through porosity required for intergrowth of bone tissue into implant. Porosity appears owing to outflow of low-viscosity melt during firing formed by fine components from the bulk of product under the influence hydrostatic forces. Rigid framework formed by mutually twisted mineral needles, after outflow of major amount of melt provides necessary mechanical strength. EFFECT: extended choice of surgery-destination materials. 2 tbl
