FIELD: manufacture of fittings for pipe lines and equipment. SUBSTANCE: proposed wedge-type gate valve has body, rigid wedge and seats. Body is provided with detachable center part which has shape of rectangular ferrule or ferrule with rounded-off ends for tight fitting of wedge. Seats are made as extensions of two connecting branch pipes which project into center part of body for tight fitting of wedge. Center part of body and threaded part of spindle have height sufficient for tight fitting of wedge after treatment and lapping of contact surfaces of wedge and seats. EFFECT: maintainability; high tightness; enhanced operational reliability of wedge-type gate valve. 5 cl, 2 dwg
