FIELD: separation of heterogeneous liquid systems under action of centrifugal forces; chemical, microbiological, wood-pulp and paper industries. SUBSTANCE: proposed hydraulic cyclone includes cylindrical housing with tangential supply branch pipe, cover and expulsor, unloading unit made in form of concentrically fitted partitions forming passages for classification products and adjusting units mounted at classification product outlets. Hydraulic cyclone is provided with air supply unit including circular collector with perforated upper wall and damper fitted rotatably at collector inlet; upper wall of said collector is located at the same level with bottom of hydraulic cyclone for delivery of air to working space formed by housing and expulsor whose surface is curvilinear in shape and diameter of horizontal section reduces in direction from collector to air discharge branch pipe and is determined from the following formula: , where d is diameter of horizontal section of expulsor; dbase is diameter of expulsor base; k is coefficient of form of lateral surface of expulsor; z is distance from expulsor base. EFFECT: improved quality of classification due to elimination of turbulence zones and reduction of intensity of attenuation of flow velocity component in direction of hydraulic cyclone axis. 2 dwg
