FIELD: study of chemical and physical properties of materials. SUBSTANCE: procedure can also be used for simultaneous determination of dissolubility factor and initial concentration of gases by materials. In compliance with procedure specimen of material containing dissolved gas, which dissolubility and concentration is to be found, is placed in chamber, which is then vacuumed. Thereafter equilibrium concentration of gas in chamber is established. Later chamber is vacuumed again and equilibrium concentration of gas is measured. Later sought-for dissolubility factor and initial concentration of gas in material are found by formulas: and , where σ- is dissolubility factor of gas in material, mole/(cu m Pa); ε is degree of filling of chamber equal to ratio of volume of chamber to volume of specimen; c1, c2 are equilibrium concentrations of gas, mole/cu m; u0 is initial concentration of gas in material, mole/cu m; R is universal constant, Pa cu m (mole/K), T is temperature, K.
