METHOD FOR EVALUATING ANATOMICAL AND FUNCTIONAL STATE OF KNEE JOINT LIGAMENTS IN INTRA-OPERATIVE PERIOD Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2226370 C1

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves examining and palpitating ligaments with arthroscopic test hook. Tests of anterior or posterior drawers are carried out. Horizontal part of the hook is set in perpendicular to a ligament or ligament fascicles under examination. The horizontal part is pressed into the ligament or ligament fascicles under examination to a value equal to half-thickness of the horizontal part of the hook or to visible deformation arising. The hook is retained in pressed position Crus position is changed to reach maximum tension of the ligament or ligament fascicles under examination checking for horizontal hook part ejection or slipping-off event to occur when its anatomical integrity and function are retained or for lack of the event when its anatomical integrity and function disorder takes place. The horizontal part is set and pressed first into proximal and then into distal and later into middle part of the ligament or ligament fascicles under examination in particular cases when evaluating anatomical and functional state of cruciate ligaments of the knee. When evaluating anatomical and functional state of lateral (collateral) ligaments, the horizontal part of the hook is set and pressed near the place the ligament is attached to femoral epicondyle in other particular cases. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in detecting anatomically and functionally defective ligaments or their fascicles. 3 cl
