FIELD: railway road transport systems, possibly car construction, namely restoration of bearing surfaces of carrying parts. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of placing onto bearing surface of part heated cover plate made of steel sheet with wear resistant properties having overlaps for folding them according to contour of bearing surface and having width no less than thickness half of bearing wall; upsetting it on bearing surface normally relative to distributed static load in range of allowance for positional deviation of bearing surface from measuring base in direction of applying load and simultaneously folding overlaps according to contour of bearing surface and securing cover plate to adjoined walls of part; before placing cover plate, filling worn zones of bearing surface with plastically deformed metal in quantity sufficient for eliminating voids under cover plate; heating cover plate until quenching temperature, placing it on bearing surface and performing upsetting of cover plate while folding its overlaps according to contour of bearing surface; then unloading part at gradually cooling and self-tempering of cover plate.
