FIELD: railway rolling stock, particularly manufacture of carrying cast parts of cargo cars. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of casting wear resistant cover plates; cleaning them; removing flaws; heat treating them; mounting them onto supporting surfaces and performing quality control; mounting wear resistant cover plates at upsetting by action of distributed static load until achieving their close abutting to supporting surfaces; then determining position of outer surfaces of wear resistant cover plates relative to measurement bases and realizing elastoplastic deformation of part by cross bending of it according to pattern of operational loading until predetermined value of total deformation in direction of loading not causing residual deflection of supporting surfaces out of allowance for dimensional accuracy and providing in mostly stressed zones residual stresses with sign opposite to sign of stresses caused by operational load; securing cover plates to walls joined with supporting surfaces; after releasing part evaluating its carrying capability according to maximum static load and residual deformation value. EFFECT: possibility for increasing operational capability of cast carrying parts while taking into account wear degree of their supporting surfaces and fatigue resistance of cracking zones. 2 dwg
