SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method and device for transfer of tobacco articles, for instance, cigarettes or cigarette packets between first cell located in preset position and second cell which is displacement along preset first trajectory. At least one gripping element for gripping the articles is displaced along second trajectory found between first cell and first trajectory, mainly, tangentially to first trajectory, and articles are transferred between gripping element and second cell when gripping element travels along first part of second trajectory. Articles are transferred between first cell and gripping element when the latter travels along straight-line second part of second trajectory parallel to direction of delivery/outlet of articles relative to first cell.
