FIELD: laboratory study of processes of crystallization of sugar-carrying solutions during their cooling, sugar industry. SUBSTANCE: device establishing concentration and average size of particles in crystallized solutions of saccharose incorporates power supply unit, radiation source, flow-type dish provided with window for light transmission, window for light diffusion and trap of transmitted light, recorder of intensity of scattered light. Semiconductor laser operating under pulse condition is utilized in the capacity of radiation source, pulse generator is connected to power supply unit. Flow-type thermostatted dish is equipped with additional window for light diffusion in order to record intensity of scattered light at two angles. Recorder of intensity of scattered light incorporates two optical channels, each including photodetector comprising photodiode and preamplifier with constant gain factor. Output of photodetector is connected via amplifier with adjustable gain factor to synchronous full-wave detector, output of detector is connected by means of integrator and D C output amplifier to double-channel recorder and pulse generator is connected to laser and in parallel with detectors. EFFECT: expanded range of examined concentrations, enhanced authenticity of establishment of sizes of particles in crystallized solutions of saccharose thanks to registration of indicatrix of diffusion at different angles, diminished error of determination of intensity of light diffusion, potential for usage of device at increased temperatures. 1 dwg
