FIELD: measurement.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical devices for measuring concentration of suspended particles in water and can be used to determine oil content and mechanical particles in bottom water at oil producing enterprises and environmental monitoring of aquatic environments. Device for determining content of oil and mechanical particles in bottom water consists of a laser radiation source, a flow cell for the analysed product, photodetectors for detecting directly transmitted through the cell and backscattered radiation by particles of the medium, attached to the cell on the side of the laser coaxially with it and having a central hole with a diameter equal to the diameter of the laser beam passing through it into the cell and falling on the photodetector, which detects direct radiation, a semi-transparent divider placed between the laser and the cell, a photodetector for controlling the intensity of the laser radiation. Device additionally comprises a pump for pumping the controlled sample through the cell, and a radiation scatterer is placed on the photodetector for recording laser radiation passing through the cell.

EFFECT: simpler design of the device and higher accuracy of measuring content of oil and mechanical particles in bottom water.
