FIELD: optical measuring methods.
SUBSTANCE: inventions group relates to optical methods for measuring concentrations and sizes of suspended particles in water and can be used to determine oil, mechanical particles and their average size in produced water at oil producing enterprises, as well as for environmental monitoring of aquatic environments. The method involves heating the analyzed sample to a temperature of 25 to 40°C, emulsifying it with ultrasound directly in the cuvette, irradiating with laser radiation with a wavelength of 0.4 to 1.2 mcm, measuring the intensity of the backscattered laser radiation, the optical density of the light transmitted through the cuvette the flux and intensity of the forward scattered laser radiation in angles from 0 to 15°, while the content of oil, mechanical particles and their average size are determined through the registered signals when the maximum of the backward scattering signal is reached.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of measurements.
