SUBSTANCE: proposed vacuum neutron tube has sealed vacuum envelope accommodating ion source, set of ion-optical electrodes, means for maintaining working pressure in neutron tube, and target assembly incorporating target, additional intermediate substrate, main substrate, and copper radiator. Additional intermediate substrate is diamond base substrate coated with alkali-earth metal saturated with hydrogen radionuclides.
