FIELD: wind power engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to design of windwheels with horizontal and vertical axis of rotation and it can be used in creating high-economy wind power plants. Invention solves the problem of increasing difference in aerodynamic drag of opposite aerodynamic elements, reducing side drag and increasing wind utilization factor and providing automatic control of windwheel rotational speed. For this purpose in proposed windwheel containing semicrossmembers forming equal angles, rods arranged on ends of crossmembers square to crossmembers in plane of windwheel and aerodynamic elements mounted on rods and aerodynamic drag control element, according to invention, each aerodynamic element is made of two similar-shape but different-size plates arranged in tandem in planes square to rod and similarly orientated, distance between plates being less than doubled minimum size of larger plate. All different-size plates of aerodynamic elements are installed over circumference of windwheel at same sequence. Aerodynamic drag control elements are made in form of internal weights mounted on semi-crossmembers, spring-loaded and installed for movement along semicrossmembers. At least one of plates of each aerodynamic element is spring-loaded and installed for travel along link being coupled by tie-rod with inertia weight.
