FIELD: engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to propulsion engineering and can be used in automotive industry. Fuel-air mixture (FAM) is injected into combustion chamber (CC) (5) from compressor cylinder (13) equipped with one or several fuel feeders (12 and 27). Stroke of piston (19) of the compressor cylinder is installed with advance or delay from piston (2) of working cylinder (1). In the stroke range of the working piston from the lower dead point (LDP) to the upper dead point (UDP) in the CC, FAM is supplied, and in the stroke interval of the working piston from UDP to LDP, water is supplied to the CC. Preparation and homogenisation of fuel assembly in compressor cylinder is performed at air excess ratio λ ≤ 0.5. In combustion chamber, in electrode area of ignition plug (7), FAM is prepared with excess air factor of 0.6 ≤ λ ≤ 2.0, using for this purpose air supplied from working cylinder. Water is introduced, bypassing the compressor cylinder, directly or through annular channel (22) located around the CC. This ensures safety and stability of engine operation, since during FAM preparation in compressor cylinder there is no possibility of its explosion – rich mixture at λ ≤ 0.5 can not burn. Mixture prepared in the area of spark plug is easily ignited and ignites lean mixture outside this area.
EFFECT: technical result is providing engine safety and stability.
