FIELD: subsurface radiolocation. SUBSTANCE: invention is specifically related to methods of identification of objects in process of sounding of condensed media frequency-modulated by continuous electromagnetic radiation. Process of identification of dielectric objects consists in subsurface sounding of medium by frequency-modulated SHF radiation, recording of reflected signal, retuning of frequency in range Δf,f determined by required spatial resolution in direction of sounding and computed by formula Δf>c/2l,f>c/2l where l is spatial resolution; c is velocity of light in vacuum. Reflected signal is recorded on frequencies with interval df chosen depending on depth of sounding and computed by formula df<c/2L where L is sounding depth; c is velocity of light in vacuum. Value of correlation of spectrum of frequency dependence of intensity of reflected signal on spectrum of model signal is assumed in the capacity of criterion of identification of object. EFFECT: identification of dielectric object by its electrical length along direction of sounding. 4 dwg
