FIELD: medicine, gastroenterology, hepatology, neurology.
SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with detecting the concentration and qualitative composition of short-chain fatty acids of C2-C6 fraction with isomers in blood serum, where relative content of acetic, propionic and butyric acids (C2,C3,C4) in total content of C2-C4; percentage content of isovaleric and isocaproic acids in total content of C2-C6 with isomers and values for coefficient of isoC6/isoC5 ratio are considered to be the main differential-diagnostic criteria of encephalopathic genesis. The method enables to verify encephalopathic genesis at higher accuracy in every concrete case despite some objective reasons: severity degree of patient's state, impossibility to conduct additional trials, etc. that enables to start pathogenetic therapy in due time.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of differential diagnostics.
