FIELD: ferrous metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises smelting metal on steel-smelting assembly, feeding manganese oxide-containing material, and additionally introducing, onto the fusion surface, material containing compounds of other alloying elements to spread them uniformly together with manganese oxide-containing material on the fusion surface, and reducing alloying elements by adding reducing agent into metal-slag interface zone during the other ingredients are being supplied starting at the moment when height of the bed of other alloying elements achieves 0.1-0.15 the total bed height. Reduction of alloying elements is conducted at melting temperature of mixture of manganese oxide-containing material with material of other alloying elements such as to provide permanent contact of molten portion of reducing agent with homogeneous constituent of melting alloying elements over the total reduction process time. Amount of reducing agent added provides thermal capacity of the mixture of alloying components. Manganese oxide-containing material and material of other alloying elements are continuously or portionwise, each portion containing at least 0.1 the total consumption. Reducing agent may be selected from aluminum-containing material, silicon-containing material, carbon-containing material, alkali metals, and mixtures thereof.
EFFECT: increased degree of absorption of alloying elements by smelted metal and reduced pollution of steel with nonmetal inclusions.
