FIELD: ferrous metallurgy; production of vanadium-containing steels. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes melting of metal steel-making unit, tapping metal to ladle at content of sulfur ≤ 0.01%, introduction of carbon-containing materials into ladle from beginning of tapping till filling by 1/5 of mass of metal, introduction of oxide vanadium- containing material mixed with oxide manganese-containing material in single batch at ratio (0.9-1.1): (15-16), respectively, slag forming materials and reductant in form of mixture of calcium carbide and aluminum taken at ratio (1.4-1.5): 1. It is good practice to use commercial vanadium pentoxide as oxide vanadium-containing material of the following chemical composition, mass-%: V2O5, 83.0; SiO2, 1.0; TiO2, 0.58; Fe2O3, 7.4; CaO, 1.9; Al2O3, 0.3; MgO, 0.5; Cr2O3, 1.6; (Na2O+K2O), 3.7; P, 0.015.
