FIELD: nuclear power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: container has case with cover assembled of external and internal shells. Radiation shielding material and reinforcing heat-conducting members contacting external and internal shells are fitted between these shells. Container also has spent fuel bag and cooling ducts communicating with atmosphere. Bag is disposed in removable metal vessel provided with heat-transfer ribs and at least two hermetically sealed lids. It is mounted by means of ribs contacting internal shell inside case to form clearance for air passage. Some of cooling ducts are made in side wall of case in the form of metal tubes running from bottom upward and rigidly fixed with reinforcing heat-conducting members; other cooling ducts are provided in bottom part of case and in its cover and communicate with clearance.
EFFECT: augmented heat transfer.
