Abstract RU 2232280 C1

FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines.

SUBSTANCE: metal sealing gasket made of heat resistant of higher hardness relative to surfaces of linear and engine cylinder cover in contact with gasket is made in form of H-section or C-section rings or close to hollow semitorus orientated with its convex side to cylinder axis. Rings of all types are provided with seat surfaces for contacting with grooves of liner and cylinder cover. H-section ring is provided with thickened wall smoothly mated with upper and lower flanges, each being concave, and summary value of their concavity is equal to tolerable value of elastic deformation. C-shaped ring has section decreasing to ends and profile of convex side formed by intersecting straight lines. S-shaped ring is provided with seat surfaces smoothly and symmetrically rounded and pointed opposite to one another. Semitorus ring is provided with support ring inside arranged at a distance from its inner side at end equal to value of tolerable elastic deformation, and profile of side wall of semitorus ring is similar to that of C-shaped ring. Prior to fitting the rings before operation, clearance is checked by feeler gauge between surfaces. Said clearance should be equal to elastic deformation of C-shaped rings and exceed value of elastic deformation by 1.5 times for H-section and semitorus section rings.

EFFECT: preservation of tightness of sealed joint for unlimited service of engine without breakage of tightening studs.
