FIELD: systems for heating water, possibly main or peak-hour source of heat supply.

SUBSTANCE: water-heating boiler includes shield fire box and convection gas duct arranged over it. Lateral walls of gas duct are formed by means of vertical collecting drums of mutually opposite heating surfaces of convection pack. Front and back walls of gas duct are formed by means of extensions of respective shields of fire box. Heating surfaces of convection pack are in the form of coil pipes or flags. Shield unit of fire box includes front, back and two lateral shields. Front or back shield has step providing lowered surface area of cross section of convection gas duct in comparison with surface area of cross section of fire box. Each lateral shield has two panels with common lower and separate (inlet and outlet) upper collecting drums; inlet upper collecting drum is also used as lower collecting drum of convection pack. Front and back shields have common lower collecting drum; upper collecting drum of front shield and upper collecting drums of convection pack are connected respectively with tubes for discharging and supplying water.

EFFECT: improved design of boiler providing intensified convection heat exchange.
