SUBSTANCE: in the method of invention, particularly involving steel-smelting slags and using molten pool with acid correcting substances, such as quartz sand and/or blast furnace slag, and/or SiO2-containing substances, added before performing reduction reaction, basicity of slags is adjusted to a value, which is by 0.1-0.5 below baseline value (CaO/SiO2) of desired slag.
EFFECT: reduced foam formation, lowered initial reaction rate and treatment time when treating oxide slags, and increased reliability and metal oxide reduction reaction.
