APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING OF CARBON DIOXIDE EXTRACTS Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: production of carbon dioxide, may be used in food-processing and allied branches of industry for reprocessing of spice-and-aromatic vitamin and medicinal raw plant material with liquid carbon dioxide.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus has set of extractors, evaporator-condenser, and solvent collectors. Extractors are connected within apparatus through pipelines in annular circuit with controllable valves providing for sequential alternating switching-off of extractors for recharging. Combined evaporator-condenser is arranged above extractors, with space between pipes defining zone for evaporation of carbon dioxide from miscella and pipes defining zones for condensing of carbon dioxide vapors. Final film-type distiller is positioned downstream of evaporator. Space between pipes of evaporator-condenser is connected to compressor input of turbine expansion engine-compressor unit and further to second-stage compressor, whose output is connected to pipe space of evaporator-condenser. Carbon dioxide condensate is supplied to turbine expansion engine input to allow energy of condensate under increased pressure to be utilized for compressing of carbon dioxide vapors. Vapor-liquid mixture delivered from turbine expansion engine and solvent vapors delivered from distiller are supplied into mixing condenser whose output is connected to solvent collector.

EFFECT: increased efficiency and provision for utilizing energy of condensate and solvent vapors under increased pressure resulting in reduced consumption of power.
