FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to high-strength thin-sheet corrosion-resistant steel used as material for railway industry, in particular for making compartments of "green" trains. Steel has the following chemical composition, wt.%: C 0.02–0.06, Si 0.1–0.5, Mn 0.4–1.7, P ≤ 0.02, Cr 4.0–6.0, Ni 1.0–3.0, S ≤ 0.007, N 0.004–0.010, AlS < 0.001, B 0.001–0.006, total oxygen [O]T 0.007–0.020, as well as containing one or both of the following components, wt.%: Nb 0.01–0.08 and V 0.01–0.08, and/or Cu 0.1–0.6 and Sn 0.005–0.05, balance are Fe and unavoidable impurities, with Mn/S ≥ 250.
EFFECT: steel has both high mechanical properties and high corrosion resistance.
