METHOD OF CONTROL OF ALUMINA FEEDING INTO AN ELECTROLYZER WITH THE HELP OF PINHOLE FEEDERS Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2233914 C1

FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: the invention presents a method of control of alumina feeding into an electrolyzer with the help of the pinhole feeders and is dealt with nonferrous metallurgy. The method may be used for optimization of alumina feeding in an electrolyzer. At control of alumina feeding into the aluminum electrolyzer, to keep concentration of alumina in the given limits it is necessary to measure the voltage of the electrolyzer. Then they form the cycles consisting of a sequence of a basic mode of power supply, a mode of insufficient power supply and a mode of excessive power supply of a bath. Calculate the pseudo-resistance Rnc and its time derivative dR / dt on the basis of measurements of the voltage of the electrolyzer and the current of a series in all modes. In the mode of the insufficient power supply it is necessary to transfer to the mode of the excessive power supply in case the time derivative dR / dt exceeds the given values. Then they define periods of automated supply of alumina (ASA = АПГ) in the modes of insufficient and excessive power supply in proportion to ASA setting. The anodic cradle is moved only in the mode of the basic power supply. ASA setting is adjusted depending on duration of stay of the electrolyzer in the mode of the insufficient power supply. In the case the duration of the electrolyzer stay in the mode of the insufficient power supply exceeds the given values the ASA setting value should be increased and vice versa. Duration of the excessive power supply mode is set constant. The invention allows to increase productivity of the electrolyzer.

EFFECT: invention allows to increase productivity of the electrolyzer.
