FIELD: metallurgy; through calcination of carbon materials, anthracite, for example.
SUBSTANCE: proposed electrocalcinator includes calcination chamber with unloading channels in its lower portion, upper and lower electrodes with respective electric contact units; calcination chamber is barrel-shaped in form, i.e. it has variable cross-section; lower electrode is sectional; it consists of carbon blocks laid axially on one another in horizontal plane; end parts of electrode are placed in calcination chamber lining between unloading channels.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency.
