FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves setting drains in stump-to-stump space and in anterior mediastinum after having transected the primary bronchus. Transthoracic drain is set into large cavern before operation under X-ray control. All drains are disconnected from vacuum suction system twice a day for administering 80 mg of gentamicin and pinching them with clamp for 1 h. Then, suction is restarted from all drain tubes. Chemotherapy is restarted at the third day after the operation. No wound-induced complication taking place, the drains are withdrawn from the stump-to-stump space and anterior mediastinum. The intracavernous drain goes on functioning for healing the cavern and bronchial tree according to prescribed scheme.
EFFECT: accelerated treatment course.
