FIELD: production of hydrogen, in particular, orthohydrogen and parahydrogen.
SUBSTANCE: method involves providing vessel and filling it at least partly with water-containing liquid substantially free of chemical catalyst; dipping pair of electrodes in said liquid, with electrodes being arranged at distance of 5 mm or less from one another; applying pulsed electric signal to one of said electrodes after dipping thereof into liquid, said pulsed electric signal having frequency within the range of 10-250 kHz to provide for hydrogen generation. Method allows cell to be produced, which obtains large amounts of hydrogen and oxygen during relative time period at low input power and without heat release, cell to be worked out, which is adapted for producing of hydrogen and oxygen bubbles not tending to concentrate around electrodes or thereon, as well as cell to be produced, which is capable of obtaining orthohydrogen, parahydrogen or mixture thereof, and may be subjected to regulation for producing of relative amounts of orthohydrogen and parahydrogen necessary for user.
EFFECT: increased efficiency and simplified method.
