FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed AC-to-DC power converter has input stage receiving energy from AC power supply and incorporating input filter (C1, C2, L1) and rectifier means (D1, D2, D3, D4) designed for rectifying AC signal, capacitor (Cdc) designed for rectified signal energy storage, (D1, D2, D3, D4) rectifier energy output, as well as pulse load capacitor (Cdc) wherein load has at least one switchable winding (W1, W2) that picks energy off output; size of capacitor (Cdc) causes voltage drop across this capacitor below 15% of peak rated rectified value of power supply within each cycle of its AC voltage peak. Current picked off AC voltage supply can drop within limits specified by electromagnetic compatibility standards.
EFFECT: simplified design, reduced cost compared with prior-art converters rated at same power level.
