SUBSTANCE: display device is provided, comprising the following components: a module (122) for detection of a fixed image, which inputs video signals having a linear characteristic and calculates the average value of signal levels for video signals having a linear characteristic, per pixel; a module (150) of a memory, which serially saves average values calculated by the module (122) for detection of a fixed image; a module (162) for detection of a fixed image, which detects whether a fixed image is displayed on a current screen, on the basis of the difference between the average value saved in the module (150) of the memory, and the last average value; a module (164) for calculation of a coefficient, which calculates coefficients for reduction of image brightness, displayed when the module (162) for detection of a fixed image has detected that a fixed image is displayed on the current screen; and a module (128) for correction of a signal level, which multiplies video signals by coefficients calculated with the module (164) for coefficient calculation.
EFFECT: prevention of screen burning.
