METHOD FOR FORMING VERTICAL POSITION IN PATIENTS SUFFERING FROM SPINAL CORD CONDUCTIVITY DISORDERS Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2236264 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method involves applying electric stimulation of lower extremity muscles. Orthostatic tonic vibration reflex activation is carried out in addition by applying lower extremity vibrostimulation in soles area or in proper ligaments of patient kneecaps in vertical position with support or fixed on orthopedic table at an angle of 60-80° to horizontal plane. After having stopped vibration treatment and having postactivation effect of orthostatic tonic vibration reflex appeared, muscle electric stimulation is carried out on patients suffering from flaccid type motor disorders with 100 ms long impulse and impulse succession frequency of 1 Hz and amplitude of 30-50 mA. Patients suffering from spastic type motor disorders are treated with 0.05-0.1 ms long impulse and impulse succession frequency of 50 Hz and amplitude of 10-30 mA. Treatment course is administered daily during 10 min during 10 days. The treatment course is repeated when needed.

EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of treatment; reduced risk of traumatic complications.
