FIELD: inorganic compounds technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for preparing granulated aluminum fluoride that can be used as sorbent for purification of gaseous uranium hexafluoride to remove gaseous ruthenium-106 compound. Method is characterized by that preliminarily dried granulated active aluminum oxide is portionwise treated with hydrogen fluoride/air mixture heated to 350-400оС in annular-tube reactor using hydrogen fluoride uptake 4-6 l/min and residual pressure in reactor 1·104-6·104 Pa. Thus obtained granules are treated for 40-50 h with fluorine at fluorine pressure 0.8·105-1·105 Pa and column wall temperature 180-200оС.
EFFECT: improved sorption and strength characteristics.
