FIELD: electrical engineering, in particular, low-voltage reservoir capacitors, applicable in systems of electric starter start of inertial combustion engines, as well as in stand-by supply sources.
SUBSTANCE: the capacitor with an electric double layer has a body, power plates closing the body from the ends, and end current-collecting plates connected to the outer different-polar current leads, stacks in alternating polarity installed in the body on one another and consisting of flat accumulating sections, each of them has two porous electrodes divided by a separator and impregnated by electrolyte, thin plates adjoining them, end inner insulators located between the end current-collecting plates and the power plates, intermediate current-collecting plates installed between the stacks and connected to the end current-collecting plates of the respective polarity by switching jumpers, each switching jumper is made in the form of a flat bar with L-shaped components attached to its ends butt-joined to the end surfaces of the current-collecting plates, the current-collecting plates in each formed pair are intereconnected at least by two jumpers. The presence at least of two jumpers makes it possible to prevent a failure of the capacitor at discharges by high currents, up to the short-circuit current. The jumpers are made flat for improvement of heat abstraction and prevention of overheat both of themselves and the elements adjoining them at high currents.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability of the capacitor and adaptability to manufacture.
