FIELD: welding, namely electron beam welding processes, possibly for making important structures indifferent branches of industry.
SUBSTANCE: welding process is realized at performing through melting and relay control of process due to reducing electric current of electron beam after occurring through melting and due to increasing electric current after setting mode of partial melting. During welding process electric current of electron collector arranged over welding zone and having positive potential relative to product is registered. Amplitude of oscillations of spectrum components of secondary electric current is used as information parameters characterizing time moment of occurring through melting. Simultaneously at registering electric current of electron collector, oscillation of electron beam along circular or X-shaped path is performed. Oscillation amplitude of spectrum components of secondary electric current is in ranges 200 -1000 Hz and 3 - 50 Hz. Occurring of through melting is detected by simultaneous lowering of amplitudes of spectrum components in said ranges or according to lowering of amplitude of one component of secondary electric current spectrum. Method provides enhanced reliability of welding processes with through melting of articles having thickness 5 - 40 mm.
EFFECT: enhanced accuracy and reliability of welding processes.
