FIELD: electrical engineering; lead-acid battery manufacture.

SUBSTANCE: proposed current lead for lead-acid battery is, essentially, gridwork made of non-horizontal strands of variable section enlarging from frame to eye by 1.3 - 1.4 times and horizontal strands disposed within variable-width frame; gridwork is reinforced by three thickened horizontal and three thickened radial strands uniformly distributed along gridwork area; horizontal strands are widened in wedge-like manner at joints between horizontal strands and vertical frame close to eye; they are tilted through 8 - 12 deg. and their length is 4 - 6 mm; eye is provided in upper part of frame at distance of 18 - 24 mm from corner; upper frame width toward eye increases by 1.5 - 1.6 times; lower frame is extended at two points where its length is 33 - 40 mm and width, 3.5 - 4.5 mm.

EFFECT: enhanced strength and yield of current leads and electrodes; reduced current-lead production cycle.
