SUBSTANCE: method involves carrying out ultrasonic examination as follows. Patient is asked to fix sight and close eyes. Transducer is set on closed eyelids and moved in turn in axial plane from top to down from upper orbit boundary to the lower one during 5-15 s, in sagittal plane from external to upper boundary during 5-10 s, in oblique plane from superoexterior to inferointernal orbit boundary during 5-7 s. 5-to 15 discrete sections are produced in each scanning plane and their positional summing is carried out. Each integral section is examined in turn and spatial image of vascular structures is built. The image is rotated and evaluated from various sides. Background and blood vessel contrasting methods are selected. Patterns and length of blood vessels, their interaction between each other and surrounding tissues are studied. Presence or absence of vascular tunic deformity, development anomalies and newly formed blood vessels are detected.

EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in detecting newly formed blood vessels and vascular anomalies in eyeball and surrounding tissues.
