FIELD: quantum electronics.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method for manufacturing gas laser with U-shaped folded cavity involves step-by-step assembly of laser components affording desired stiffness, stability, and symmetry of device and elimination of crosswise displacements and bends of discharge channels; in the process longitudinal slot is made on one of dielectric plates and longitudinal projection, on high-frequency electrode; dielectric plates and high-frequency electrode are assembled in stack whereon two extreme segmental electrodes are mounted and braced together to form discharge structure disposed in tube so that auxiliary clearance is provided between tube wall and segmental electrodes of structure; cooler assembled of two symmetrical parts is mounted on tube, its parts are braced together to cause tube deformation and elimination of auxiliary clearance.
EFFECT: enhanced power and stability of output characteristics.
