FIELD: physics, optics.
SUBSTANCE: method of making waveguide double-channel RF-excited CO2 laser involves putting a cylindrical electrode with two opposite longitudinal grooves on the outer side into a laser housing without clearance. In each groove there is a pair of plates insulated from each other and a RF electrode, which form a discharge structure. The electrode is made from two symmetrical semi-cylinders whose longitudinal bases have a gap between them. On at least one semi-cylinder along the groove there are threaded openings with screws. The screws are turned uniformly until there is close contact of the screws with the longitudinal base of another semi-cylinder, as well as close thermal and electric contact of the cylindrical electrode with the laser housing and obtaining a uniform gap between longitudinal bases of semi-cylinders. After fitting the electrode the following is carried out: putting resonator mirrors on the butt-ends of the housing, prealignment, sealing, pumping, filling working mixture and final laser alignment.
EFFECT: easier laser assembling, which provides efficient heat transfer, symmetry and structural rigidity, which enables to obtain high power and stability of radiation output parametres.
