FIELD: instrumentation engineering; radiation on excimer and exciplex molecule transitions in gas-discharge radiation sources.]
SUBSTANCE: proposed radiation source has transparent dielectric bulb, gas medium, electrodes tightly abutting against bulb surface, and pulse voltage supply connected to electrodes. Desired effect is attained due to making electrodes in the form of two spirals wound on bulb with spiral turns spaced apart through distance sufficient for occurrence of discharge within bulb at desired pressure, optical medium composition, and voltage across electrodes.
EFFECT: enhanced service life and simplified design of radiation source.
