FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves carrying out coughing sound recording by means of microphone set 15 cm far from oral cavity and connected to computer to enable one to carry out digital processing. Acoustic spectrum analysis of the first coughing actions selected from three cascades containing having three coughing actions in each. Mean value of coefficient q is calculated showing ratio of total coughing signal energy in lower (60-330 Hz) frequency bandwidth and in high (330-660 Hz) one before and after treatment. The obtained results are compared with reference value equal to 0,4-0,7. Bronchopulmonary disease treatment is considered to be efficient, if q coefficient value reaches normal level after applying treatment.
EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness and accuracy in selecting therapy and medicaments for treating patients.
