FIELD: measuring engineering.
SUBSTANCE: object to be measured is mounted in the housing by setting its opening on two centering pins, providing the measuring feeler and one of the sides of the measured slot to be in a contact. The mutual angular position of the object and the housing is determined by reciprocation of the object in centering pins and feeler with the rod around the axis of the rod. The feeler is reciprocated in the plane parallel to the longitudinal axes of the centering pins, and the first reading is taken. The feeler is set in a contact with the other side of the slot, the second reading is taken, and feeler rotates around the longitudinal axis of the rod and moves along the axis, and third reading is taken. In rotation and movement of the measuring feeler along the axis, it is centered with respect to the centering pins by simultaneous setting the side of the feeler and the working surfaces of the centering pins in a contact. The difference of the first two readings, with taking into account the diameter of the feeler, yields the width of the key slot. The half difference between two spans, calculated from differences of the first and third, second and third reading, yields the deviation of symmetry.
EFFECT: enhanced accuracy.
