FIELD: railway signaling and communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for traffic control. Invention is based on checking insulation resistance reduction rate. According to proposed method, ac voltage signal is applied to track circuit at one end, face value of voltage is checked at other end. Current value of voltage is compared with threshold occupation and clearance voltage values. Occupation voltage value is found as product of current voltage recorded at moment of occupation of track circuit adjacent to track circuit under investigation by voltage drop coefficient. Said coefficient is found by multiplying constant depending on parameters of track circuit by ratio of voltage, which has been recorded when track circuit adjacent to that under investigation is occupied, to valve of voltage which has been recorded at a lapse of time. This time interval is determined as ratio of distance from beginning of adjacent track circuit to point where influence of running train on voltage across receiving end of track circuit under investigation is revealed when ballast is dry, to maximum tolerable running speed.
EFFECT: improved reliability of checking of track section state.
